that was very good scout……so for the next ten days i will change the question in all areas.thankyou scout this is a great tip….
Wonderful!
My only suggestion would be to make sure to give yourself grace if you forget sometimes…remember, it is a journey, and we all move in and out of remembering.
As far as I am concerned, my work is all about opening doors so people (including me!) can remember who they (we) are, a little more each day. In that remembering is the deep peace and happiness we seek.
Thanks so much for commenting! I love comments – they help ME remember, on the days when I might forget.
Hi Scout – just wanted to tell you that you inspire me. Love your site, love your work, love what you have to say and how you help. I am a coach and a therapist myself and I loved reading your comment about how comments help you to remember who you are as well. I can relate to that and that helped me too.
Thanks, Lynda! Yes, the comments are important! I’ve become an avid giver of positive feedback…it’s so funny, how a person thinks that their comment isn’t important, so they don’t leave it…and it’s SO important, for everyone, for so many reasons. So – anyone out there, if you go through your life not saying the nice things you are inclined to say to people you know OR people you don’t know – know this – YOUR COMMENT IS IMPORTANT. Positive feedback will change the world. If you ever doubt that go read this GREAT little book: “How Full is Your Bucket?”
I was in an abstract painting class one time, best art class I ever took, and all we did was paint, choose what we liked best, and add it to the collection that would be critiqued each class. The rules of the critique session were simple: Speak only about what worked in any given painting. Talk about inspiring more and more creativity, fun, joy…ooooooh, I feel another blog post coming on. Thanks for helping me get on my soapbox here! LOL
Excellent question and so simple. I will put it next to my phone to remind me.
I'm glad someone posted you to Facebook. I have heard that idea before: if you want better answers, ask better questions. But I like the simplicity of starting with one question: Why is it so easy for me to… great advice!
Scout,
This is a really great way to stop that mind chatter and change it up to a much better, more valuable conversation. I am going to use this for the next 10 days and see what happens. I am only going to pick one or two areas to work on at first.
Thank you!
Definitely will be eager to hear what new actions you find yourself taking! And I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it in this comment string or not, but be sure to support yourself by looking for the positive evidence! You have a choice of what you look for, and the evidence is out there, whichever way you look. So if you want to make changes, always look for the evidence that you are, and then celebrate that! It’ll make a huge difference.
Scout,
Never before has so much been said with so few words. I think you may entirely change my way of viewing things especially if I can make a habit of asking why things (in specific) are easy. Just the concept blows my mind. Thank you.
I really like this adventure—and your assistance to go "Scout"-ing and discover the treasure trove within the 'unconscious'. What a "Blessing" you are…in offering your talents to help so many! Thank you, Scout, from my whole heart!
G R E A T suggestion!
By changing the question we allow aourselves a completely different perspective. Wow! Powerful!
Thanks for sharing this one little action that will undoubtedly yield Huge changes! YEA!
This is a really funny, entertaining, witty, loving, warm, interesting, simple video and it creates deep insights. Thank you so much for sharing. It's my first time to visit your site and I like it!
Thanks so much, for letting me know! I SOOO appreciate these comments!
This is what I have been looking for. So called "affirmations" helped me somewhat, but they are not optimal; your brain is too smart to tell it "I am such and such" when it knows this is not really true. Scout's way does not insult your brain or confuse it with these statements. After all if you are "such and such", then why should your brain be compelled to take any action? And you may go around acting better than you really are. Not too good!
Instead her way totally engages the brain, to find a way to CREATE the change. I was starting to stumble upon it myself, but then I found Scout's YouTube video, and found she's already ..err.. scouted the way on this. Thanks Scout. By the way I'm a pilot too with only 100 hrs. I work with racehorses and use psychology on them with ever increasing success.
I love what I see so far. I see a big change in myself, even though I only saw your video 14 hours ago. May I suggest that you put "Affirmations" as a tag on your YouTube video. Then people looking for affirmations, will find your much improved method.
Casey, thanks so much for the comments, and very much for the suggestion as well – I will do that right away. It’s a very good idea.
I’m so glad this tool helps you – it’s so simple, and it really does get you in the “back door” in a very interesting way.
And have FUN with the flying!!! You know what I loved almost the most about it? (well, you know – MOST – that’s funny, right! It’s all so good)
Anyhow – one thing I LOVED was the moment of pulling out onto the runway, after doing all the pre-flight and runup…and sitting there for a moment, looking down the runway. Feeling the angle of the plane, feeling the ground, and feeling into the moment of readiness when I would push the throttle forward and commit to the take off. And then pushing the throttle forward.
It’s such a metaphor for life. To feel that commitment in my body, in every cell, and then act in the trust of that knowing. I did a firewalk one time, and it was exactly the same feeling. Standing at the edge of the coalbed, just feeling. Feeling for that moment of readiness, when I knew that I was so committed that I could and would be fine. It’s like throwing your heart over the jump. That moment of commitment is what makes the difference in everything.
Thanks again for touching in! I really appreciate the connection.
Cheers!
I have been asking a different question for all kinds of things and am continually amazed by how easy things can be. Health conditions make it difficult to walk any distance and I found myself restricted in shopping, visiting, etc. Now I ask why it's so easy to get from A to B and I can do it without effort. I may have to ask the ? several times in one outing but I'm pleased to report IT WORKS. So thank you for all that you do and give. May you be blessed.
Thanks for the note, Delores – I LOVE hearing these success stories. Keep up the great questioning!
Thanks so much Scout for this short message, I was such a funny thing, I just had filled in my application for you next call ' don't stop believing' and in the question box I had written
what questions can you ask yourself when you have a negative believe?
Hee! the question you put in your short message would be one I would use, so thanks
again, its amazing how the universe works to help you when you ask!
Absolutely, Jane. I totally believe the universe is supporting us all the time – we just need to be open to it and allow it in. Asking for what we want, and believing we can have it, be it, do it! Rock on!!
Hi Scout, I am embarking on a wonderful journey of raising my consciousness on the three levels and really wanting to make a difference in the lifes of others by being informative and inspirational. I love your site and have signed up for the Divine Enterpreneurial Diva Telesummit as well as tomorrows – Following the Nudge Telecall. I am very excited and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to listen in, Thank you for sharing for great work with the rest of us
Light and Light P.s. not to mention this top tip of reframing how to ask a question Positively !!
Scout you are always an inspiration and that question is just what I needed to hear at this moment. It is so easy for me to inspire others but I forget to inspire myself with such a simple question. You have just reminded me.
Thankyou and love and blessings to you.
Hi, Heather and Matairki -

You can sign up for the details here: http://scoutwilkins.com/a-magical-2012/
hugs!!!
Just the other day I was listening to how our brain is a quantum computer and that what ever question you give it, it will only give answers to that question. After watching your video it now makes sense to me.
Hi I seem to be caught sometimes in fear and overwhelm about things espcially sorting myself out before the cosmic shif happens! I choose to change for me, I choose to change to be more resource and serve in someway and I am also worried that focusing on my shadow and looking at what has led me to feel less than…. Will just attract more of the same!
Jake – Great question. Absolutely, you want to focus on what you WANT MORE OF, while being in deep gratitude for what you have right now. First, allow what is true, right here right now, to be OK. No resistance. THEN – get into focusing on what you want by using this process. Ask the simple question – How is is so easy for me to have even more peace and prosperity in my life? How is it SO EASY for me to be focused and relaxed, getting what I need to get done easily? When you do this, you are directing your UNCONSCIOUS focus toward what you want. That’s what makes it so powerful. Great good luck to you!
Thanks! After I posted that I saw your Video! I have started on the How easy its! So I have strated doing them! Thanks so much!
Hi,
How would this apply in the case of a noctural 'habit'. A fully unconscious habit such as bruxism. For example, many seem to believe that relaxing one's jaw (no clenching) during the day will automatically result in a cessation of grinding while asleep. This, unfortunately, as any grinder knows, is NOT the case. Would repeating "Why is it so easy for me to not grind my teeth when I sleep"? make sense in this situation? More importantly, is there even a remote chance of success?
Thanks
Hi, Buddy – Thanks for the great question!
I always begin by asking – what do you want instead? What do you WANT to have be true, specifically?
Two keys:
1. Make sure you always state what you want in the positive…your inner mind does not hear the word "not". So if you ask: "Why is it so easy to not grind my teeth?" you're asking for more grinding. Instead, ask: "Why is it so easy for me to sleep peacefully with a wonderfully relaxed jaw?" or "Why is it so easy for me to wake up in the morning feeling refreshed, with my jaw nicely relaxed as it has been all night long?"
2. Ask the question with a nice, light sense of curiosity. It's high time to release any sense of "should" around any of this, and just have some fun with it. Let it be easy, let yourself be curious about just how darn easy it really can be.
Keep it nice and simple – and positive.
Figure out what you want. Then ask why is that so easy. (ALternately, you can ask: "How is it so easy".) Let me know how it goes!
As far as your note about "is there any chance of success" – the more you go into this expecting success, and expecting that it will be easy, the easier it will be. It's another place to use the question: "Why is it so easy for me to expect this to work?" If you have habitually expected things to be difficult or not work, try teasing yourself a little:
"I wonder why it's so darn easy for me to do this all of a sudden! Good for me!" Laugh with it.
What have you got to lose other than a clenched jaw? Who knew it was so darn easy to let yourself lighten up…
smiles,
Scout
One can feel the sheer power and confidence in those words. They sound and look simple but I tell you when saw the clip and read the words, I just got excited. This is when you know that you know that you know that this is it. Wao! Why will it be so easy for me to come back after 10 days to give great testimonies?I love this I really do. I am so so greatful. Thank you so much. Why is it so easy to make the turn around NOW?
Shadrack – I’m so happy this feels so powerful for you! Can’t wait to hear from you in ten days…and remember, a big part of the game is continually looking for the positive evidence. As they say, Expect Miracles! And miracles you will have.
This is a great tip and AHA moment for me. Thank you so much. I sending this on to my friends and family.
Thanks so much for letting me know!! I really appreciate it, and I hope it works wonders for your family. It’s great to use this as a group, because you can support each other. I’ve also heard from a person who did this with a friend and they challenged each other to get more and more creative. As with everything, the more fun you make it, the better results you will have.
Thank you for the reminder! Recently, my thoughts have been focused on not being able to do what I need and want to do. For the next 10 days I will record what changes take place due to my fresh approach… Why is it so easy for me to achieve my goals… Post you soon!
Thanks for letting me know!! Have fun with it – so glad it’s helping!
I had wonderful results with Changing the Question re doing my exercise program early each day, and will begin the process again, this time on a "harder", more core question I was afraid to address 10 days ago (oh, that pesky fear of failure!). But, as Mom taught me, "practice makes perfect," so here I go to the next level of transformation!
Thank you, Scout, for an easy, clear, fun process!
Thank YOU jEtana, for stepping up level by level! It’s all any of us can do, and are doing. Yee haw!
