Gremlins. I talk about them a lot, in terms of the voices that are running your life.

What do I actually mean?

Imagine yourself at your very best and boldest. Doing what you’d really love to do, doing what you’d do, as they say, if you knew you could not fail.

Now – imagine that there’s a gremlin sitting on your shoulder, whose job it is to keep you real, keep you in line, keep you practical, basically, keep you in check. Keep your “feet grounded in reality.”

A cranky little creature who “knows” the real you, and why it’s crazy for you to even think the way you are thinking right now.

What is that gremlin saying?

Specifically, what is it saying ABOUT YOU?
In its opinion, what is true of you that means you could never do that?

It may sound something like:

  • Who do you think you are, anyway?
  • You’re not smart enough, quick enough, rich enough, good enough;
  • You don’t have the credentials;
  • YOU couldn’t be the leader!
  • You always screw things up.

That’s the gremlin voice.

And make no mistake – That voice is NOT your voice.

No matter how much you may have taken it on, and no matter how much you feel like it is your voice. No matter how much you even believe it.

It’s also quite possible that you do not know exactly what that voice is saying – perhaps you can’t hear it. But you can certainly see the results of it in your life. It’s the voice that stops you. Has you avoiding your dreams. Quitting just before you finish something big. Coming up with excuses for why you are not making the big things happen. Knowing you have it in you, whatever it is.  A book, a business, an adventure, a relationship, a marathon – and not reaching for it.

How much has that voice cost you in your life?
What has it kept you from doing?
What is it STILL keeping you from doing?
And, even deeper, what is the cost of THAT?

I mean the true, heart wrenching cost of lost relationships, the cost of modeling playing small for your children, so that’s the way THEY will approach the world.
The cost of never following your deepest yearning.

As people get older, they realize, more and more, the precious gift that life is.
And get to a place where they know they’d rather regret the things they tried than the things they did not try.

People on their deathbed rarely regret the chances taken – they regret the opportunities missed.

Would you like to show that gremlin the door? You CAN.
That voice can be released. So you can get in and hear YOUR voice, and let YOUR voice be the one that directs your life.

It’s deep work but it’s a whole lot quicker and simpler than you probably think.
Your whole life is on the line.

What opportunities are waiting for you, when you let yourself take the leap?
